OBI CUBANA CONFIRMS APPOINTMENT AS SOUTH-EAST COORDINATOR OF CITY BOY MOVEMENT, PLEDGES INCLUSIVE ENGAGEMENT AND NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Prominent businessman, philanthropist and nightlife entrepreneur, Obi Iyiegbu, widely known as Obi Cubana, has officially confirmed his appointment as the South-East Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, marking a new chapter in his expanding public engagement and national involvement.
The Anambra-born entrepreneur disclosed the development via a post on his official Instagram page on Tuesday, revealing that his appointment letter was personally presented to him by Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, during a late-night visit to his residence on Monday.
According to Iyiegbu, the visit went beyond a formal presentation, as both men held extensive discussions touching on a wide range of issues, including matters of national importance and the future direction of youth-driven political participation in Nigeria.
He explained that the engagement reinforced his conviction that meaningful change in society is best achieved through active participation rather than distant criticism, a belief that informed his decision to accept the role.
Responding to the diverse public reactions trailing his appointment, Obi Cubana maintained that sustainable transformation can only occur when individuals choose to engage constructively with existing structures and platforms.
He further declared his full alignment with the ideals of the City Boy Movement, noting that real influence is most effective from within, where ideas can be translated into tangible actions.
The business mogul assured Nigerians that his new responsibility would not compromise his personal values, long-standing community development efforts, or leadership philosophy, which he described as people-centered and impact-driven.
Speaking on President Bola Tinubu, Iyiegbu described him as a City Boy and a man of commerce, whose background in enterprise resonates with his own entrepreneurial journey. He emphasized that his focus as South-East Coordinator would be to promote inclusiveness, bridge divides, and ensure that all segments of society feel represented within the movement.
He stressed that national progress requires collective effort, adding that no single group can achieve Nigeria’s aspirations alone.
Obi Cubana also appealed to Nigerians to embrace tolerance, mutual respect, and healthy dialogue, regardless of differing political opinions, urging citizens to remain focused on creating value and driving national development.
Expressing gratitude to his supporters, the renowned entrepreneur reaffirmed his commitment to working toward a more united, inclusive, and prosperous Nigeria, as he begins his assignment within the
City Boy Movement.
