“One Instance of Disfavour Will Not Make Me Forgetful of Many Unmerited Favours” — Hon. Dannie Ubani Breaks Silence on Labour Party House of Assembly Ticket Saga
Former House of Assembly aspirant and outspoken political figure, Hon. Dannie Ubani, popularly known as “Manja” and “Ezemuo,” has finally broken his silence amid growing speculations and social media narratives surrounding the Labour Party House of Assembly ticket controversy.
In a lengthy and emotionally charged statement, Ubani dismissed claims that he would turn against Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, over the outcome of the party’s ticket process, insisting that he would not be manipulated into attacking the governor despite pressures from political detractors.
Ubani lamented what he described as repeated attacks and “poorly crafted posts from deranged minds,” alleging that certain individuals had continued to predict that he would launch verbal attacks against Governor Otti in the same manner critics claimed he once confronted former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
According to him, several online commentators had expected him to react angrily after allegedly being denied the Labour Party ticket for the House of Assembly election. However, he maintained that contrary to the expectations of his critics, he has remained calm and focused.
The outspoken political figure accused some political opponents of attempting to provoke him into making rash statements against the governor, describing their efforts as manipulative and immature.
Responding to comments suggesting that he was now afraid of Governor Otti, Ubani sarcastically agreed with the accusation, saying that if remaining silent and strategic makes him appear weak, then so be it.
Using strong military analogies, the veteran political actor likened himself to a “war-tested General” who understands when to retreat, reorganize, and restrategize rather than engage in reckless confrontation.
He argued that wisdom and caution should not be mistaken for cowardice, emphasizing that experienced leaders do not sacrifice themselves merely to prove strength before critics.
Ubani further declared that those expecting him to insult or fight Governor Otti would have to wait “till all seas gang dry,” stressing that he would not allow himself to be trapped by political manipulation or emotional provocation.
While hinting that he would later speak more extensively on the matter, he concluded his statement with a powerful reflection on loyalty and gratitude, declaring that a single moment of disappointment would never erase the numerous favours and opportunities he had previously received.
His remarks have since generated reactions across political circles in Abia State, with many observers interpreting the statement as a sign of political maturity, restraint, and continued loyalty to the administration of Governor Alex Otti despite recent tensions surrounding party 
ticket allocations.
