Ukwa-La-Ngwa Nation Set to Host Historic Grand Civic Reception in Honour of Governor Alex Chioma Otti at Enyimba International Stadium, Aba
The people of Ukwa-La-Ngwa extraction have concluded plans to host a grand civic reception in honour of their illustrious son and Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, in a celebration expected to draw leaders, stakeholders, and citizens from across the state and beyond.
The historic event is scheduled to hold on Friday, January 30, 2026, by 10:00am at the iconic Enyimba International Stadium, Aba, a venue symbolically chosen to reflect the pride, strength, and unity of the Ukwa-La-Ngwa people.
The reception is being organised as a mark of honour, appreciation, and collective endorsement of Governor Otti’s leadership, reforms, and developmental strides across Abia State, particularly his inclusive governance approach and renewed focus on infrastructure, economic revival, transparency, and people-centred policies.
The event will be held under the distinguished chairmanship of His Excellency, Senator Dr. Adolphus Wabara, former Senate President and one of the most respected political leaders from the zone, adding national stature and gravitas to the occasion.
Serving as the Chief Host of the grand reception is Barrister Chief Theo Nkire, Leader of the Aba Union, whose leadership role underscores the strong institutional and communal backing for the event, especially from Aba and its environs.
Coordination and planning of the reception are being overseen by the Steering Committee chaired by Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ihuoma Emeruwa, who is also responsible for receiving goodwill messages and official communications in the form of telegrams ahead of the event.
The grand civic reception is expected to feature cultural displays, goodwill messages from traditional rulers, political leaders, professionals, youth groups, women organisations, and socio-cultural associations, all united in celebrating Governor Otti as a worthy son of Ukwa-La-Ngwa and a transformational leader of Abia State.
