WIZKID NAMES ASAKE AS HIS DREAM WEDDING PERFORMER, DECLARES ‘REMEMBER’ HIS ALL-TIME FAVOURITE IN HEARTWARMING RADIO MOMENT
In a heartfelt and star-studded moment on Apple Music Radio, Grammy-winning Nigerian icon Ayodeji Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, set the internet buzzing after revealing that he wants Afrobeats sensation Asake to perform at his long-anticipated wedding.
During the exclusive appearance alongside DJ Tunez and Asake, the Starboy boss opened up about the depth of his admiration for the YBNL hitmaker. He disclosed that the breakout hit “Omo Ope” instantly turned him into an Asake devotee from the very first listen, but it is “Remember” that sits permanently at the top of his playlist and he wants it performed live on his special day.
Wizkid, visibly excited as he spoke, said “‘Omo Ope’ made me an Asake fan from the first listen. But my favourite Asake song is ‘Remember’, I think you have to play that one on my wedding day. It is an amazing record.”
He went on to shower Asake with glowing praise, firmly placing him among the greatest voices on the continent and beyond.
