Youth dies after fight at naming ceremony in Bauchi

A 20-year-old man has died after a fight broke out during a naming ceremony in Warji Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The incident was contained in a post shared on X on Thursday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.

Makama said the victim, identified as Haruna Haruna from Kwata village, was injured during a dispute among youths at the event on 2 December 2025.

According to the post, the disagreement quickly turned violent, and Haruna was left unconscious. 

He was rushed to the General Hospital in Warji, where he later died while receiving treatment.

The police have arrested a 20-year-old suspect, Gambo Yobe, in connection with the incident.
