2027: “THE VOTES MUST BE COUNTED” — NACO DECLARES ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ELECTORAL MANIPULATION IN ABIA, BACKS GOVERNOR ALEX OTTI FOR SECOND TERM
The New Abia CleanForce for Otti Vision (NACO) has declared that every vote must count in Abia State in 2027, warning that any attempt to undermine the electoral process will be firmly resisted.
The position was made on Saturday, April 25, 2026, by the Convener and Founder of NACO, Comrade Miracle Chukwunenye, during the group’s routine monthly clean-up exercise across parts of Aba, where members also toured markets, streets, and motor parks as part of their environmental advocacy campaign.
Chukwunenye said the exercise revealed widespread public satisfaction with ongoing developments in the state, noting that residents repeatedly expressed confidence in the current direction of governance under Governor Alex Otti.
He explained that the visible transformation in infrastructure, public facilities, and environmental sanitation has shaped public perception across communities visited.
According to him, the health sector stands out most in the ongoing reforms, describing the progress as unprecedented.
“The strides of Govenror Alex otti in the health sector is unquantifiable,” he said, pointing to the rehabilitation and construction of primary healthcare centres and hospitals across the state.
Chukwunenye also used the opportunity to respond to recent political remarks made by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, particularly claims relating to Signature Bank and state finances.
Addressing the issue directly, he dismissed the allegations as misleading and politically motivated, insisting that they do not reflect the reality on ground in Abia State.
He clarified that Governor Alex Otti had no ongoing involvement with the financial institution in question.
“Governor Alex otti has nothing to do with signature bank, governor Alex Otti was one of the CEOs of the bank and he resigned his position before taking up the mantle of governance, today Otti does not hold any position in signature bank,” he affirms
He further noted that attempts to use the matter to discredit the administration were already failing among residents, who, according to him, are more focused on development than political narratives.
On the 2027 elections, Chukwunenye maintained that Abians are determined to ensure that the process is transparent and credible, warning against any attempt to manipulate outcomes.
“Anybody that thinks that the election of 2027 will be rigged is living in delusion, because it wil never happen… the votes must be counted,” he said.
He also disclosed that NACO has begun setting up structures for election monitoring, including a special agent forum and support from diaspora partners to strengthen transparency efforts.
A key highlight of the event was the announcement of Chima Anya, an Aba based content creator popularly known as Azara Aza, as an ambassador of the NACO movement in recognition of his contributions to environmental cleanliness and civic awareness.
“We are officially pronouncing you as our ambassador… we will choose a date to decorate you with the ambassadorial position,” Chukwunenye formally announced the honour during the exercise:
Reaffirming the group’s political stance, Chukwunenye declared full support for Governor Alex Otti, stating that the endorsement is backed by action and grassroots mobilisation rather than rhetoric.
“We are endorsing Governor Alex Otti for second term and we are not just endorsing him with our mouths, we are endorsing him with our efforts, our commitment, our energy, with our resources,” he said.
Earlier, the President of NACO, Mr. Onyekachi Nwabueze, represented by Engr. Ojukwu Agu a.k.a Ojay, also addressed participants after leading the clean-up exercise that took the forum across key areas of Aba, including Bata Junction, Umungasi, Brass, and Okigwe Road.
He described the transformation in Aba as remarkable, noting improvements in cleanliness, orderliness, and urban renewal.
“What he has done so far is what nobody could for 24 years but he did it in 3 years… just look at the serenity in Aba, the cleanliness, the orderliness,” he said.
Ojukwu also dismissed criticisms surrounding state finances, insisting that ongoing development speaks for itself.
“Where did he get all the money to do all these things… we are seeing the results everywhere,” he added.
He reaffirmed NACO’s commitment to grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections, stating that the group will continue to engage communities in support of ongoing reforms.
In his goodwill message, Chima Anya aka Azara Aza also thanked NACO for seeing him worthy to be named an ambassador and pledges sincere commitment to continue upholding the cleanliness virtues in Abia, warning that any one planing to alter Governor Otti’s return will be fully resisted.

environment currently enjoyed across the state.
