GOV. ALEX OTTI SPEAKS TO ABIANS: Gov. Alex Otti Announces Flag-off of 25km Umuahia–Ikot Ekpene Road and New Infrastructure Projects Across the State

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, has announced that the much-anticipated flag-off ceremony for the 25-kilometre Umuahia–Ikot Ekpene Road will take place on Friday, October 24, marking another significant milestone in his administration’s aggressive infrastructure renewal agenda.

 

Speaking during the October edition of the Monthly Media Parley tagged “Governor Alex Otti Speaks”, the Governor revealed that in addition to the Umuahia–Ikot Ekpene Road, the state government has also awarded the construction of the 9.3-kilometre Ihechiowa Ring Road alongside several other strategic road projects that are set to commence soon across the state.

 

The Governor emphasized that the upcoming projects form part of his broader plan to ensure that all parts of Abia State are connected through durable, quality road networks that will enhance commerce, mobility, and overall economic growth.

 

In a related development, Governor Otti directed his Chief of Staff, Dr. Caleb Ajagba, to investigate the situation at Ubani Market and submit detailed recommendations to the government for immediate action. This directive underscores the Governor’s commitment to addressing emerging issues swiftly and ensuring that markets and business environments within the state are properly managed in line with the government’s development objectives.

 

Governor Otti reaffirmed his administration’s determination to sustain the momentum of infrastructural transformation across Abia, stressing that the coming months would witness even more groundbreaking projects aimed at improving the quality of life for Abians and attracting sustainable investment to the state.
