Celebrity Herbal Vendor, Sisi Alagbo’s Viral Tape Controversy Deepens as Husband Denies Involvement, Blames Accidental Upload Amid Blackmail Allegations and Police Intervention

The controversy surrounding the viral private video involving celebrity herbal vendor Sisi Alagbo has taken a dramatic new twist, as her husband publicly refutes allegations linking him to the leak, instead attributing the incident to an accidental mistake by his wife.

What began as a social media storm over a leaked “gbenshing” tape has now evolved into a complex narrative involving claims of accidental exposure, blackmail, and police involvement. The husband, who had earlier been accused in some quarters of being responsible for the leak, has come forward to set the record straight, insisting he had no role in the incident.

According to his account, the video was unintentionally shared by Sisi Alagbo herself while she was trying to navigate Facebook. He explained that in the process of handling the platform, she mistakenly sent the private video to a Facebook channel. Before she could take corrective action and delete the content, it had already been accessed and saved by a woman identified as Mercy Akinbanjo.

The situation reportedly escalated quickly after the video was saved. The husband disclosed that Mercy allegedly reached out to them shortly after, demanding money in exchange for not releasing the clip to the public. This development introduced a blackmail angle to the already sensitive situation.

Firmly denying any involvement in the leak, the husband made an emotional declaration to assert his innocence, stating, “If I was the one that deliberately leaked our tape, may God punish and kill me”. He maintained that the incident was purely accidental, reiterating, “My wife mistakenly sent it, and before she could delete it, Mercy had saved it.”

Faced with the threat, the couple said they sought advice and were warned against paying the demanded money, based on the belief that giving in to blackmail often leads to continued exploitation. Acting on this guidance, they reported the matter to the police.

Law enforcement authorities subsequently arrested Mercy Akinbanjo. During interrogation, she allegedly confessed to already forwarding the video to another individual prior to her arrest, further complicating efforts to contain the spread of the footage.

Now dealing with the emotional and reputational fallout, Sisi Alagbo’s husband expressed deep distress over the situation, describing himself as overwhelmed and embarrassed by how widely the video has circulated.

In a heartfelt appeal to the public, he called for understanding and support, saying, “Please help us. We didn’t leak anything. It was a mistake, and now the video is everywhere.”
