“Without Me, There Would Be No Israel” — US President Trump Sparks Debate with Explosive Remarks at G7 Summit
United States President, Donald Trump, has stirred fresh controversy on the global stage after declaring that Israel’s existence and strength are deeply tied to the support of the United States and his personal leadership.
Trump made the remarks on Tuesday while speaking at the G7 Summit in Évian-les-Bains, France, amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, particularly surrounding the ongoing Iran conflict, regional security concerns, and renewed efforts by world leaders to sustain a ceasefire across troubled areas of the region.
The president’s comments come at a time when diplomatic relations and strategic military decisions involving Israel, Lebanon, Syria, and Iran continue to dominate international discussions. Trump used the opportunity to address Israel’s military operations and the broader security situation involving Hezbollah.
Expressing concerns about the impact of military actions on civilian populations, Trump stated:
“You don’t have to knock down an apartment house every time you’re looking for somebody, because there are a lot of people in those apartment houses, and they’re not all Hezbollah, that I can tell you.“
He further revealed that he had previously advised Israeli authorities to allow Syria to take a greater role in dealing with Hezbollah, suggesting that such an approach could produce better results.
According to Trump:
“And I suggested to Israel to let Syria take care of Hezbollah because, to be honest with you, I think they’re doing a better job of doing it.“
The most striking part of his remarks, however, came when he reflected on the historic relationship between the United States and Israel, asserting that no previous American president had demonstrated the level of support he provided to the Jewish state during his time in office.
In a statement that has already generated widespread reactions across political and diplomatic circles, Trump declared:
“Without us, without the United States, there would be no Israel. Without me, there would be no Israel, because no other president was willing to do what I did. I’ve had a great relationship with Bibi, but now Bibi has to be more responsible with respect to Lebanon.“
His reference to “Bibi” was directed at Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s Prime Minister and one of Trump’s closest international allies during his presidency.
The remarks are expected to fuel further debate over America’s role in Middle Eastern affairs, the future of U.S.-Israel relations, and the ongoing security challenges facing the region. Political observers note that Trump’s comments underscore his continued effort to highlight his foreign policy legacy while positioning himself as a central figure in discussions concerning Israel’s security and regional stability.
As tensions continue to unfold across the Middle East, Trump’s latest statements are likely to remain a focal point of international discourse, drawing both praise and criticism from support
ers and opponents alike.
