“They’re good in bed” — American Woman Praises Igbo Men, Says They Are “Amazing” Partners After Eight Years Dating Nigerians
An American woman has sparked conversations online after sharing her experience dating Nigerian men for about eight years, with particular praise for Igbo men and their approach to relationships, marriage and intimacy.
In a video shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, the woman revealed that although she is generally attracted to Yoruba men, Igbo men would be her preferred choice if she ever decided to marry outside the Yoruba culture.
Reflecting on her experiences with Nigerian men, she openly expressed her admiration for Igbo men, describing them as hardworking, kind, caring and attentive to their partners.
“After dating Nigerian men for at least the last eight years, I’m typically attracted to Yoruba men, but if I had to choose another man from another tribe, I’m gonna choose Igbo every time. Okay, I’m gonna choose Igbo, I’m not gonna lie. Like, Igbo men are amazing.”
She went on to highlight what she described as the respectful nature of Igbo men in relationships, particularly their willingness to listen to their partners and make efforts to maintain mutual understanding.
According to her, Igbo men are hardworking and committed to taking care of their wives, while also being receptive to their partners’ opinions and concerns.
“Igbo men, they are hard workers. Igbo men, they are very kind, very sweet to you, they take care of their wives, the respect is mutual between you and the man.
“Igbo men, they’re usually really great at sex.
“And if you have any problem with Igbo men in the bedroom, they’re willing to listen to you. They’re not selfish lovers. Igbo men are the best,” she added.
Her comments have since generated reactions among social media users, with some Nigerians welcoming her positive assessment of Igbo men and others pointing out that personality and character differ from one individual to another regardless of ethnic background.
The discussion has also drawn attention to the diversity of Nigeria’s major ethnic groups and the different experiences foreigners may have when dating Nigerians.
Despite stating her preference for Yoruba men, the American woman made it clear that Igbo culture would be her only other choice if she were to marry outside the Yoruba culture, bringing her praise of Igbo men to a strong conclusion.
