Aba North Chairman, Hon. Timothy Kalu Iheke Hails Inclusiveness as Ndi Imo in Abia Honours Governor Alex Otti
The Executive Chairman of Aba North Local Government Area, Hon. Timothy Kalu Iheke, has expressed delight as Ndi Imo in Abia prepares to host a grand civic reception in honour of the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, and his wife, Mrs. Priscilla Chidinma Otti.
The event is scheduled to take place today, Wednesday July 15, 2026, at the Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba, and is expected to attract dignitaries, political leaders, community stakeholders and residents from across the state in celebration of the governor’s transformation leadership and commitment to unity and development.
Speaking ahead of the reception, Hon. Iheke described the occasion as a reflection of the strong bond of brotherhood and peaceful coexistence between the people of Abia and the Imo community residing in the state.
The council chairman also used the opportunity to underscore his administration’s commitment to inclusiveness and brotherly love, noting that diversity has remained a defining feature of governance in Aba North.
According to him, out of the 12 councillors serving in the Aba North Legislative Council, five are of Imo State origin. He further disclosed that two of the five supervisors appointed by his administration are also from Imo State, while his Chief Security Officer equally hails from Imo State.
Hon. Iheke stated that Aba North has continued to distinguish itself as a model of inclusive governance, stressing that the local government’s approach reflects the leadership philosophy of Governor Alex Otti, which promotes fairness, equity and equal opportunities for all residents regardless of their state of origin.
He added that the administration’s commitment to embracing diversity has strengthened unity and fostered peaceful coexistence among the various ethnic groups living and doing business in Aba North, making the council one of the leading examples of inclusive governance in Abia State and across Nigeria.
