Abia Arise Ariaria Ward 09 Rallies Support for Gov. Otti, Mobilizes Voters at December Meeting
The Abia Arise Political Structure in Ariaria Ward 09, Aba, on Tuesday held its monthly general meeting at the open-ground centre of Skyview Lounge, drawing a massive turnout of members and stakeholders who reaffirmed their loyalty to the administration of Governor Alex Chioma Otti and recommitted to strengthening the ward’s political presence.
The meeting which marked the first gathering of the month of December opened with warm remarks from the Ward Co-ordinator, Mazi Kyrian Ogbonna, who welcomed members and extended heartfelt new month wishes. He appreciated their dedication throughout the year and highlighted the visible impact of the governor’s developmental initiatives.
Mazi Ogbonna noted that although Governor Otti does not subscribe to traditional patronage systems known as “Stomach Infrastructure,” the benefits of his governance are being felt across Abia in tangible ways. He pointed to the newly installed Christmas decorations at Brass Junction, describing them as world-class and comparable to festive displays seen in major cities abroad. He further disclosed that, according to directives from the state structure, the December meeting would not be the last gathering for the year.
In his address, the Stakeholders Chairman of the structure, Chief Chijioke Michael Amaku (MC Boss), emphasized the importance of political preparedness, especially as it concerns members’ registration forms. He cautioned that the forms should not be treated as mere household items but used strictly for organizational purposes. While acknowledging that Ariaria Ward 09 boasts the highest number of polling units in the local government area, he lamented that the voting strength does not reflect the ward’s numerical advantage. He urged all members who have not yet obtained their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so, stressing that electoral strength begins with proper voter registration.
Chief Amaku also announced plans to collaborate closely with fellow stakeholders to support women in the ward both financially and otherwise, ensuring their active participation and empowerment.
Speaking in alignment with the stakeholders chairman, the Chairman of all Chairmen in Ariaria International Market, Mr. Vitus Opurum, encouraged members facing challenges with PVC registration to speak up so that they can be assisted promptly. He assured that the structure is fully prepared to guide and support anyone willing to complete their registration before the next electoral cycle.
In a similar vein, the Labour Party Chairman for Ariaria Ward 09, Hon. Okezie Linus, admonished members to remain steadfast and not lose hope. He reassured all that the benefits of supporting Governor Alex Chioma Otti’s administration will manifest fully in due time, urging them to maintain faith in the ongoing reforms and transformation across Abia State.
The meeting concluded on a note of unity, optimism, and renewed political commitment, as members pledged to intensify grassroots mobilization, strengthen voter awareness, and continue supporting the developmental strides of Governor Otti’s ad
ministration.
