The Abia State House of Assembly has passed a unanimous Vote of Implicit Confidence on the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, in recognition of his visionary leadership and outstanding performance across various sectors of the state’s economy.

The resolution was reached during the House’s plenary session held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, following extensive deliberations on the Governor’s leadership style, people-oriented policies, and transformative projects that have redefined governance in Abia State.

In a formal communication to the Governor, dated October 14, 2025, and signed by the Clerk and Head of Legislative Service, Sir Johnpedro Irokansi, PhD, the Assembly commended Dr. Otti’s administration for what it described as “remarkable progress in infrastructure, education, security, health, and other critical sectors.”

The lawmakers particularly lauded the Governor’s unwavering commitment to the growth and development of Abia State, citing numerous landmark projects executed in all nooks and crannies of Abia State. These include the newly reconstructed six-lane Port Harcourt Road in Aba and the remodelled Dr. Michael Okpara Auditorium in Umuahia, which was recently commissioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

According to the House, these achievements stand as clear evidence of Governor Otti’s reform-driven vision and pragmatic governance style aimed at transforming Abia into a model state.
