ABIA POLICE COMMAND LAUNCHES STATEWIDE SECURITY OPERATION, ORDERS IMMEDIATE DEPLOYMENT TO SCHOOLS, WORSHIP CENTRES AND KEY GOVERNMENT FACILITIES

The Abia State Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, has ordered all area commanders, divisional police officers, and tactical team leaders to immediately strengthen security presence across schools, places of worship, and vital government installations in the state.

The directive followed a comprehensive security assessment and awareness tour carried out on Saturday by the Commissioner and the command’s tactical units. The operation covered several strategic and high-risk areas including Obehie, Ugwunagbo, Central Police Station (CPS) Aba, Owerrinta, Ubakala, CPS Umuahia, Area Command Aba, Area Command Umuahia, as well as other police divisions and formations across Abia State.

During the tour, CP Isa addressed officers in the various locations visited, warning that any failure to provide robust, visible, and effective security coverage, particularly around educational institutions, religious centres, and critical public infrastructure would be met with strict consequences. He stressed that safeguarding lives and property, especially in vulnerable public facilities, remains a core mandate of the Abia Police Command.

The Commissioner also engaged with officers on ground operations and appealed to residents to play an active role in boosting public safety. He urged members of the public to share timely and credible information on suspicious movements or activities, either by visiting the nearest police station or through the command’s emergency hotlines.

The statewide tour and reinforced directive come at a period of heightened national concern over the security of schools and worship centres. The Abia State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to proactive policing, intelligence-driven operations, and stronger community collaboration to prevent crime and maintain peace across the state.
