The Abia State Executive Council has lauded the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his recent visit to Abia State and for commissioning several landmark projects executed by Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.

The commendation was made by the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Prince Sir Okey Kanu, on Monday at the Government House, Umuahia, while briefing journalists shortly after this week’s State Executive Council (SEC) meeting presided over by Governor Alex Otti.

Prince Kanu said the State Government and the people of Abia were deeply appreciative of the President’s visit, describing it as a significant endorsement of the “massive infrastructural achievements of the Governor Otti-led administration.”

In his words, “So, let me start today’s briefing by thanking Mr. President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency President Bola Tinubu GCFR, on behalf of Governor Alex Otti and the good people of Abia State, for accepting to come to the state to commission projects.”

Prince Kanu explained that although the President was “represented by the Honourable Minister of Works, Engineer Dave Umahi, FNSE,” his presence and participation symbolized the Federal Government’s recognition of Abia’s developmental strides under Governor Otti.

He continued, “His visit has underscored the significance of the massive infrastructural achievements of this administration, which is reflected in the rising profile of Abia State in the country.”

Highlighting some of the projects unveiled during the visit, the Commissioner noted, “From the unveiling of the newly renovated Michael Okpara Auditorium in Umuahia, to the commissioning of roads in Aba, Mr. President has made a significant impression in the hearts and minds of Abians.”

Prince Kanu emphasized that the Abia State Government sees the visit as an opportunity to build a stronger partnership with the Federal Government, stating, “For all these and more, we say a very big thank you to Mr. President, and we look forward to a new era of strategic partnership between Abia State and the Federal Government in the onerous task of delivering democracy dividends to Ndi Abia.”

The Council also extended heartfelt appreciation to Abians, particularly residents of Aba and Umuahia, who came out in large numbers to welcome the Presidential delegation and demonstrate their continued support for the transformative vision of the Alex Otti administration.

The Council’s expression of gratitude, according to the Commissioner, reflects the administration’s commitment to fostering a productive relationship with the Federal Government to accelerate the pace of development and sustain the renewed hope of Abians under the leadership of Governor Alex Otti.
