The Abia State Government has reaffirmed its strong commitment to infrastructural renewal, particularly in the road sector, as the Ministry of Works recorded significant progress across multiple project sites within the state.
Briefing journalists on the outcome of this week’s State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House, Umuahia, the Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, disclosed that the Ministry of Works, within the period under review, carried out direct labour interventions on 54 road locations spread across Abia State.
According to him, two of the road projects have been fully completed, while construction activities are currently ongoing at 32 different project sites strategically distributed across the three senatorial zones of the state. He noted that the interventions are part of the present administration’s deliberate infrastructural development agenda aimed at improving road connectivity, easing transportation challenges, and boosting economic activities within urban and rural communities.
Prince Kanu emphasized that the Governor Alex Otti-led administration remains focused on delivering durable and people-oriented infrastructure, stressing that the widespread road interventions reflect the government’s resolve to ensure balanced development across all parts of the state.
He assured that ongoing projects would be sustained and completed in line with set standards, adding that the government would continue to deploy resources efficiently to address critical infrastructural needs and enhance the quality of life of Abia resi
