Decisive Air Strikes Rock Zamfara as Nigerian Air Force Destroys Bandit Strongholds, Bomb-Making Facilities in Tsafe LGA
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recorded a significant operational breakthrough in the fight against banditry in the North-West, following two lethal precision air interdiction missions that dealt a heavy blow to armed criminal networks in Zamfara State.
The coordinated air strikes were carried out on December 28, 2025, targeting Turba Hill and the notorious camp of Kachalla Dogo Sule in Tsafe Local Government Area, locations long identified by security forces as fortified hideouts and operational bases for bandits responsible for widespread killings, abductions, and destruction of rural communities.
According to military sources, the targeted locations served as critical command centres, logistics points, and bomb-making hubs used by the criminal groups to plan and execute violent attacks across Zamfara and neighbouring states. The precision strikes reportedly neutralised key structures within the camps, crippling the operational capacity of the bandits and disrupting their ability to coordinate further assaults.
Turba Hill, known for its rugged terrain and difficult access, had provided cover for bandits to evade ground troops, while Kachalla Dogo Sule’s camp was believed to be a major nerve centre for the manufacture of improvised explosive devices and the storage of weapons and supplies.
The Nigerian Air Force noted that the missions were conducted after careful intelligence gathering and surveillance, ensuring accurate targeting and maximum impact on criminal infrastructure while limiting collateral damage.
The successful air operations form part of ongoing joint military efforts to dismantle bandit networks, deny them safe havens, and restore peace to communities that have endured years of violence and displacement.
Residents in affected areas have expressed renewed hope that sustained military pressure will weaken the grip of banditry in Zamfara State and the wider North-West region, as security forces intensify operations to reclaim territory and protect civilian lives.
