Four die as vehicle plunges into Ogun river

No fewer than four yet-to-be-identified male adults have been confirmed dead after a vehicle plunged into the Ososa River along the Ijebu-Ode-Sagamu Expressway.

Spokesperson of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed this in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Monday.

Akinbiyi stated that a white Toyota Hilux, which was conveying six people, lost control and veered into the river at about 12 a.m. on Sunday.

He ascribed the cause of the crash to excessive speed, adding that upon arrival to the scene, the victims were recovered dead.

Akinbiyi said, “Emergency responders, including TRACE, the police, and the Federal Road Safety Corps, upon arrival at the scene, recovered four male adults dead.”
