Gov. Alex Otti, Education Minister, Tunji Alausa to Commission Abia’s Ogbo Smart School
The Abia State Government has announced that Governor Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, will officially commission the Ogbo Smart School in Ubakala, Umuahia South Local Government Area, on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
The commissioning ceremony is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. and is expected to attract top government officials, education stakeholders, community leaders, and members of the public.
Adding national significance to the event, the Honourable Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, will join Governor Otti for the inauguration of the state-of-the-art learning facility.
According to the Abia State Government, the commissioning of the Ogbo Smart School reflects the administration’s unwavering commitment to providing world-class educational infrastructure and expanding access to quality education through innovation and technology.
The project is regarded as another major milestone in the ongoing transformation of Abia’s education sector, reinforcing the government’s resolve to equip students with modern learning facilities designed to prepare them for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
The state government has extended an invitation to members of the public, education stakeholders, traditional and community leaders, as well as the media, to witness what it described as a landmark event in Abia’s educational development.
The announcement was contained in a statement signed on Monday by the Abia State Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu.
