GOV. ALEX OTTI SPEAKS TO ABIANS: Gov. Alex Otti Clears the Air on Defection Rumours, Reaffirms Loyalty to Labour Party and Commitment to Abia’s Progress
Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, has finally addressed and dismissed the widespread rumours suggesting that he was planning to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Otti made this known on Thursday during the October edition of the Monthly Media Parley tagged “Governor Alex Otti Speaks.”
Reacting to the speculations that have been circulating both online and offline, the Governor firmly clarified that his administration remains focused on the mandate freely given to him by the people of Abia State under the Labour Party. He emphasized that decisions of such magnitude are not made on impulse or by mere imitation of others.
In his words:
“You don’t just take a decision because someone else has taken up a decision. We are not people who do things because people are doing it,” he concluded.
Governor Otti’s statement comes as a reassurance to Abians and members of the Labour Party who have stood firmly by his government’s reform-driven vision. His reaffirmation underscores his consistency, principle-based leadership, and unwavering dedication to transforming Abia State through purposeful governance, independent of political distractions or opportunistic alliances.
The Governor’s remarks put to rest weeks of speculation and further strengthen public confidence in his commitment to the Labour Party’s ideals of transparency, accountability, and people-oriented governance.
