Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has applauded security agencies operating in the state for their coordinated efforts in maintaining relative peace and stability across Abia, describing security as a critical foundation for economic recovery and sustainable development.
The Governor made the commendation on Tuesday during the December edition of the Monthly Media Parley, Governor Otti Speaks, while responding to questions from journalists. He noted that proactive security measures and timely intelligence gathering have helped to neutralize potential threats before they could escalate, thereby creating a safer environment for residents and investors alike.
Governor Otti stressed that the prevailing calm in the state is not accidental but a product of deliberate collaboration between the government and security agencies, which has continued to strengthen public confidence and protect lives and property.
Speaking further, the Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to reviving all moribund industries across the state as a strategic pathway to boosting Internally Generated Revenue and expanding sustainable employment opportunities for Abians.
He disclosed that following the successful recovery of the Star Paper Mills in Aba, his government has taken concrete and decisive steps toward the resuscitation of Afro Beverages in Owerrinta, alongside other dormant industrial assets spread across the state.
According to the Governor, the industrial revival agenda is designed to reposition Abia as a productive hub, stimulate economic activities, reduce unemployment, and restore the state’s long-standing reputation as a centre of enterprise and innovation.
Governor Otti reiterated that security, industrial growth, and economic prosperity remain central pillars of his administration’s development blueprint, assuring residents that his government will continue to pursue policies that guarantee peace, productivity, and shared prosperity for the people of
Abia State.
