Lagos Govt Issues Security Alert Over Rising Kidnapping Cases Along Gbagada Expressway
The Lagos State Government has issued a security alert to residents following intelligence from the Lagos State Police Command indicating a disturbing rise in kidnapping incidents along the Gbagada Expressway.
According to the alert, the perpetrators are using the notorious “one chance” tactic, targeting unsuspecting commuters in the area. Reports also indicate that the criminals operate with commercial Danfo buses carrying up to five individuals, making it easier to abduct victims without drawing attention.
Authorities have urged residents to exercise heightened caution while moving around the affected axis. Commuters are advised to remain vigilant, avoid late-night travels, and, where possible, seek alternative routes or means of transportation until the situation improves.
The government further encouraged the public to share the information widely among family and friends, stressing that collective vigilance is essential for community safety.
Residents are reminded to prioritize their personal security and promptly report any suspicious activities to law enforcement.
