One person has been killed and several livestock stolen after suspected bandits attacked settlements in Katsina State.
The incident was contained in a post shared on X on Monday by security analyst, Zagazola Makama.

According to the post, the attack happened around 11:30 p.m. on December 20 at two Fulani settlement camps on the outskirts of Kauyen Gabas Village in Karare District, Rimi Local Government Area.

Zagazola Makama said the armed bandits stormed the settlements at night, shot one person dead, and escaped with an unconfirmed number of livestock.

Following the attack, troops and other security personnel from nearby areas were deployed to the scene.

They reportedly blocked suspected escape routes and launched cordon-and-search operations to arrest the attackers and recover the stolen animals.
