OPM Founder, HRH Apostle Chinyere Sparks Reactions as He Seeks Wife for Adopted Autistic Son, Promises Lifelong Financial Support and Welfare Benefits
The General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Port Harcourt, HRH Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, has stirred widespread reactions following a public appeal in which he announced that he is seeking a wife for his adopted autistic son, with the aim of helping him meet his personal and emotional needs.
The cleric made the announcement via his official Facebook page, where he explained that the young man had been abandoned as a child and was taken in by him.
According to him, the boy has now grown into adulthood, prompting the decision to find him a life partner who would be willing to marry him under well-supported conditions.
In the post, Apostle Chinyere outlined a range of incentives and welfare packages that would be provided to any woman who agrees to marry his son, emphasizing that all marital responsibilities and long-term support would be fully handled by the church.
He wrote:
“Marry him and get benefits.
Since the unknown parents dump him at my gate, he has been growing to become a man.
“Any lady that accepts to marry him .
All marrital rites would be paid.
Free accommodation for live.
Monthly salary for live.
A house shall be built for the 2 couples of them.
“Free medical for both couples for live.
Vacation overseas for both couples.
She can be a single mother, a grand mother etc.
“But she must not be autistic.
And many other huge financial benefits.
Any interested girl or woman, go to opm headquarters ask of HEAD of opm welfare.“
“The unusual nature of the proposal has since generated conversations across social media, with many Nigerians expressing mixed reactions, some commending the cleric’s continued support for the young man, while others raise ethical and social concerns surrounding the approach.“
Observers note that Apostle Chinyere is widely known for his philanthropic gestures, particularly in the areas of welfare, education, and humanitarian support through his ministry in Rivers State.
As discussions continue, the development has once again placed the spotlight on issues surrounding care for persons with special needs, societal responsibility, and the boundaries of public intervention in deeply personal matters such as marriage.
