Tricycle Operators Union, Umuahia Zone Hail Gov. Alex Otti’s 3 Years of “Purposeful Governance” in Abia
The Chairman of the Abia State Tricycle Operators Union (ASTOPU), Umuahia Zone, Hon. Chinweotito Godson Appolos, has extended warm congratulations to Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, on the occasion of his third year in office, describing his leadership as “purposeful, visionary, and transformative.”
In a goodwill message issued on behalf of tricycle operators across Umuahia Zone, Appolos praised the Governor for what he called a remarkable three-year journey of governance that has redefined public service delivery and restored confidence in leadership across Abia State.
According to him, the Otti administration has “redefined governance, restored hope to the people, and placed Abia State on the path of genuine development, prosperity, and infrastructural revolution,” noting that the Governor’s style of leadership has continued to attract admiration from citizens across different sectors.
He further commended the administration’s performance across key sectors including road infrastructure, healthcare, education, security, sanitation, youth empowerment, digital governance, and economic reforms, stressing that Abians are already witnessing tangible results of good governance.
A major highlight of his message was the impact of the government’s aggressive road infrastructure programme on transport operators, particularly tricycle riders. He noted that improved road networks across Umuahia and other parts of the state have significantly reduced vehicle maintenance costs, improved safety, and enhanced daily business operations for transporters.
“Roads that were once death traps have now been reconstructed into smooth and motorable routes, bringing relief and renewed economic opportunities to thousands of hardworking Keke operators,” he stated.
Appolos added that the transformation of road infrastructure has directly boosted the livelihoods of transport operators, increasing productivity and easing movement of passengers and goods across the state.
He also described Governor Otti’s administration as one driven by accountability, competence, and visible results, insisting that the progress recorded in three years reflects a commitment to practical governance rather than rhetoric.
As the Governor marks his third anniversary, the ASTOPU Chairman prayed for continued wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for him to sustain what he described as a “transformational agenda for the betterment of Abia State and future generations.”
He concluded by reaffirming the support of tricycle operators for the administration, describing Governor Otti as “the People’s Governor and a pride of Ndi Abia.”
