The Zamfara State Police Command has arrested a man in possession of a locally made pistol during a patrol operation along the Gusau–Kaura Namoda highway.

According to a post shared on Monday by security analyst Zagazola Makama on X, the arrest was made on October 12 at about 11:30 a.m. by a patrol team led by DSP Oludele Oparinde.

The post revealed that the team intercepted one Yakubu Kasimu, who was riding a Boxer motorcycle.

“Upon searching him, the officers found a locally made fabricated pistol hidden on his body,” Makama wrote.

Makama added that the suspect was immediately taken into custody, and the recovered weapon was seized as evidence.

Both the suspect and the exhibit have since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Gusau for further investigation.
