An early morning fire incident at Petsow Pharmaceutical Company, a branch of Starling Nigeria Ltd., jolted residents of Eziama community in Aba North Local Government Area on Wednesday, prompting an immediate response from the council authority.

 

The Executive Chairman of Aba North LGA, Hon. Timothy Kalu Iheke, arrived at the scene alongside the Councillor representing Eziama Ward 01, Bishop Anthony Ejiogu, after the outbreak was reported around 4:00 a.m.

 

According to field details provided by the councillor, the fire originated from electrical fittings within the facility, causing significant alarm among workers and residents in the surrounding area.

 

Upon noticing the blaze, Hon. Ejiogu immediately alerted the council chairman, triggering a swift and coordinated response. The Abia State Fire Service reportedly arrived on time and successfully curtailed the flames before they could spread to adjoining structures or inflict major damages.

 

Despite the shock of the incident, there were no casualties, and no injuries were recorded. The rapid intervention helped saved valuable property and prevented what could have escalated into a major industrial fire in the densely populated area.

 

Hon. Timothy Iheke expressed satisfaction with the prompt expertise displayed by the Abia State Fire Service, commending their professionalism and efficiency. He also applauded Hon. Ejiogu for his vigilance and proactive steps, stressing that such cooperation between ward leaders and the council remains crucial in safeguarding lives and property across Aba North.

 

The council chairman reiterated his administration’s commitment to community safety, emergency preparedness, and swift response mechanisms in time s of crisis.
