Abia Information Commissioner, Prince Okey Kanu Celebrates Gov. Alex Otti, Says His Life Is a Testament of Purpose and Transformational Leadership
The Abia State Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, has joined millions of residents across the state to celebrate the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, on the occasion of his birthday, describing his life as a living testimony of purpose, courage, discipline, and transformational leadership.
In a heartfelt birthday message issued on Wednesday 18, 2026, Prince Kanu said the celebration was not merely about the passage of another year but about honoring the priceless gift of life and the impact Governor Otti has made in redefining governance in Abia State.
According to him, Governor Otti’s emergence marked more than a transition in leadership, but the rebirth of hope, restoration of dignity, and the reawakening of a people who had long yearned for purposeful governance.
He noted that across ministries, departments, and parastatals, sweeping reforms have repositioned public institutions for efficiency and accountability. Systems that were once stagnant, he said, are now functioning with renewed effectiveness, while institutions that had lost public confidence are steadily regaining credibility.
“Governance is no longer an abstract concept; it is now visible, measurable, and impactful,” the Commissioner stated.
Prince Kanu highlighted the prompt payment of workers’ salaries as a simple yet powerful act that has restored confidence in government, strengthened families, stimulated economic activities, and renewed public trust. He added that pensioners who once felt neglected now feel remembered, while civil servants operate with renewed commitment.
He further pointed to ongoing road reconstruction projects, strengthened security architecture, revitalized markets, and an entrenched culture of transparency as clear indicators that the state is on a steady path of recovery and growth.
Describing Governor Otti’s leadership style as deliberate, methodical, and uncompromising in integrity, Prince Kanu said the Governor has demonstrated that discipline in public finance can coexist with compassion for the people.
“Your life reminds us that leadership is not about occupying an office; it is about transforming a people,” he emphasized.
The Commissioner described the Governor’s birthday as a celebration of renewed possibilities for Ndi-Abia, offering prayers for continued strength, sound health, clarity of mind, and divine wisdom for the Governor to fully accomplish his mission of restoring, rebuilding, and repositioning Abia State.
He expressed confidence that history would remember Governor Otti as the leader who turned the tide and transformed the narrative of the state.

The greatest birthday gift we can wish for you today is not material. It is our collective prayer: that Almighty God will continue to strengthen you, uphold you, shield you from harm, grant you sound health, clarity of mind, divine wisdom, and long life to fully accomplish the purpose for which He raised you to restore, rebuild, and reposition Abia State.
May your strength never wane.
