Abia Lawmaker, Hon. Ibekwe Commends Gov. Otti Over Monumental Honour for Abia Women, Appreciates Assembly’s Support
The member representing Bende North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Ibekwe Nnamdi Chimdi, has expressed deep appreciation to Governor Alex Chioma Otti for approving the erection of monuments across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state in honour of the resilience and contributions of Abia women.
Speaking during plenary through a personal explanation, the lawmaker described the gesture as a remarkable recognition of the strength, sacrifices, and enduring impact of women in the development of the state. He particularly appreciated the Governor for immortalising the memory of his late wife, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnamdi Ibekwe, through the initiative.
Hon. Ibekwe also extended gratitude to the Speaker of the House and members of the Assembly for the solidarity, support, and compassion shown to him and his family during the burial rites of his late wife.
The emotional moment on the floor of the House drew attention to the unity and camaraderie among members of the Assembly, as lawmakers reflected on the importance of empathy and collective support in moments of grief.
