The Abia State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to transforming the state’s road network as part of Governor Alex Otti’s road infrastructural development agenda.

Prince Sir Okey Kanu, Commissioner for Information, disclosed that the administration has sustained efforts in giving the state a facelift through massive investments in critical road projects.

According to him, six new roads, including the strategic Port Harcourt Road, Aba, and Ohanku Road, are scheduled for commissioning in early October 2025. This milestone will increase the number of road projects completed and commissioned by the Otti-led administration to 39 within a short period.

“These road projects, no doubt, underscore the Governor’s resolve to ensure infrastructure renewal, inclusive development and a conducive environment for economic growth and development of the state,” the Commissioner said.

The projects, once commissioned, are expected to further ease movement within urban and semi-urban areas, boost commercial activities, and enhance the overall economic competitiveness of Abia State.
