APC Debunks ₦200 Million Nomination Form Claim Ahead of 2027 Elections, Labels Report ‘Fake and Misleading’
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has firmly dismissed widespread reports circulating online regarding the alleged pricing of its expression of interest and nomination forms for the 2027 general elections, describing the claims as entirely false, misleading, and lacking any official backing.
According to reports, the clarification was contained in a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, who categorically denied that the party had reached any decision concerning the sale or cost of nomination forms for the forthcoming elections.
The ruling party emphasized that no official pronouncement has been made on the matter, stressing that the information currently in circulation did not originate from any recognized organ or authority within the APC.
“The report is FAKE and did not emanate from the Party. To be clear, no decision or announcement has been made on the sale or pricing of forms for the 2027 elections. The report is a mere figment of the writer’s mischievous imagination,” the statement said.
The APC further urged its members, media practitioners, and the general public to exercise caution and refrain from spreading unverified information capable of misleading the public and creating unnecessary political tension.
The party noted that the false claims appear to have gained significant traction across various social media platforms, where unconfirmed and speculative details about the supposed costs of nomination forms have been widely shared and debated.
This clarification comes in response to viral reports alleging that the APC had pegged its presidential nomination form at a staggering ₦200 million ahead of the 2027 elections, a claim the party has now unequivocally refuted.
Reiterating its position, the APC maintained that no official pricing structure has been approved or announced for any category of nomination forms at this stage of its electoral preparations.
The party concluded by advising its supporters, stakeholders, and the general public to rely strictly on verified and official communications from the APC when seeking information about its activities and plans for the 2027 general elections.
