APC Dismisses Reports of Withdrawing 2027 Presidential Campaign Council List
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed widespread reports claiming that it has withdrawn the list of members of its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, describing the reports as mere rumours.
The clarification was made on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, following growing speculation over the status of the campaign council list released as preparations gather momentum for the 2027 general elections.
Reports had circulated suggesting that the ruling party was making a dramatic U-turn by withdrawing the list amid concerns and reactions from party members and stakeholders.
However, Morka moved quickly to shut down the speculation, maintaining that the APC had not officially withdrawn the campaign council list. He stressed that any genuine decision to alter the composition of the council would be formally communicated through the appropriate channels of the party.
The controversy comes shortly after the APC unveiled the composition of its Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 presidential election, in which President Bola Tinubu is expected to seek re-election.
The release of the list sparked reactions within the ruling party, with some stakeholders reportedly expressing concerns over the inclusion and exclusion of certain prominent party figures.
The development subsequently triggered speculation that the APC leadership could make adjustments to accommodate aggrieved members and address concerns surrounding the campaign structure.
