Bandits kill elder, abduct 5 in Zamfara

Two people, including a community elder, were killed while five family members were abducted during an armed attack on Askawa village in Ruwan Gizo district, Talata-Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State

The incident occurred on Wednesday night, according to a post shared on X on Thursday by security analyst Bakatsine.

“Yesterday night, armed bandits attack Askawa village in Ruwan Gizo district, Talata-Mafara LGA, Zamfara State. They killed two residents, including a community elder, while five family members were abducted.

“The incident adds to the growing pattern of rural communities facing repeated raids with little protection,” Bakatsine wrote. 

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
