Family Announces Funeral Arrangements for Beloved Alexx Ekubo-Okwaraeke
The family of the late Alexx Ekubo-Okwaraeke has officially announced the funeral arrangements for their beloved husband, son, brother, friend, and colleague, whose passing has continued to draw an overwhelming wave of grief, tributes, and prayers from loved ones across Nigeria and beyond.
In a heartfelt statement released by the family, they expressed profound sorrow over the painful loss, while also giving thanks to God for what they described as a life “beautifully lived and deeply impactful.”
According to the statement signed by Mazi Ekubo Okwaraeke (UGWUARO) on behalf of the Ekubo-Okwaraeke family, the immense support, messages, visits, calls, and prayers received since the passing of Alexx have brought strength and comfort to the grieving family during this difficult period.
The family noted that Alexx was deeply loved by many and remembered for his compassion, faith, warmth, generosity, laughter, and unwavering devotion to both God and humanity. They described him as a man whose presence brought joy to every gathering, touched countless lives, and created unforgettable memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
They further stated that although his death came too soon, his legacy and impact will continue to live on through the many lives he inspired.
The family has therefore invited friends, colleagues, associates, fans, and well-wishers to join them in celebrating the remarkable life and enduring legacy of the departed.
Funeral activities will commence with a Service of Songs scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at The Monarch Event Center, Lekki, Lagos, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with guests expected to appear in white attire.
A Wake Keep will follow on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the family residence located at 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, Abia State.
The Funeral Service is slated for Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu, Abia State.
Interment will take place immediately afterward at the family compound at 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, while a reception ceremony will follow at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu.
The family urged the public to continue keeping Alexx, his wife, and the entire Ekubo-Okwaraeke family in prayers as they navigate the painful loss of a man they described as forever cherished and forever remembered.
“Though his passing came far too soon, Alexx lived a life marked by love, warmth, generosity, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to God and the people he cherished
,” the family stated.
