HON. LATEEF ASHIMI CELEBRATES 100 DAYS IN OFFICE WITH ₦50 MILLION CASH INTERVENTION, CAR GIFTS TO BAALES, AND NEW AMBULANCE, STAFF BUS FOR SOMOLU LGA

The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government Area of Lagos State, Hon. Lateef Ashimi, has launched a remarkable ₦50 million “Renewed Cash Intervention” initiative ahead of marking his first 100 days in office, demonstrating his administration’s compassion and commitment to grassroots development.

The landmark event, which took place at the new Somolu Local Government Secretariat, saw 500 beneficiaries, comprising the elderly, youth, traders, artisans, and vulnerable residents, each receive ₦100,000 in direct financial support.

In addition to the cash intervention, Hon. Ashimi presented official cars to several Baales (community heads) in recognition of their service to their communities, and also handed over a brand-new ambulance and a staff bus to the local government headquarters. These gestures, he explained, were part of his administration’s vision to improve welfare, enhance service delivery, and strengthen community leadership structures.

The event drew a large audience, including top state and local government officials, political leaders, community chiefs, and various stakeholders who gathered to celebrate what they described as a new era of purposeful leadership in Somolu.

Attendees commended Hon. Ashimi for his people-centered approach within just 100 days, noting that the cash intervention program would significantly cushion the economic challenges faced by many families and small business owners in the local government area.

With these initiatives, Hon. Lateef Ashimi has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, youth empowerment, and responsive leadership aimed at transforming Somolu into a model local government in La gos State.
