In a major leadership transition at the Agege Local Government Council, Hon. Tunde Azeez (Disco) has officially resigned from his position as Chairman, citing health challenges that have hampered his ability to continue discharging his official duties effectively.

 

The council, in a plenary session, acknowledged Hon. Disco’s years of selfless service and unwavering dedication to grassroots governance. Members commended his contributions toward community development, infrastructural upliftment, and the welfare of Agege residents. His decision to step down, the house noted, reflects his commitment to responsibility and integrity in public service, even in the face of personal health struggles.

 

After comprehensive deliberations, the council unanimously adopted a resolution accepting his resignation with immediate effect. In the same sitting, the council unanimously approved Hon. AbdulGaniyu Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa as the substantive Chairman of Agege Local Government. The appointment, which received broad support from council members and stakeholders, is seen as a strategic decision to ensure smooth administrative transition and strengthen ongoing development programs.
