Residents of Umuamadi, Nkem-Nvosi community in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State were thrown into fear and confusion in the early hours of 4:00 a.m., October 1st, 2025, when heavily armed security operatives stormed a private residence, sparking chaos and panic across the neighborhood.

According to members of the family, a combined team of men from the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Army, allegedly brought in by one Madumere Anughuodo, scaled the fence of the home belonging to three brothers — Enoch Ubani, John Ubani, and Vincent Ubani, without a warrant or prior notice. The sudden invasion, carried out under the cover of darkness, initially left villagers fearing it was a kidnapping operation, as the men forcibly gained access to the property.

The shocking incident is said to be linked to a lingering land dispute currently before the Omoba High Court in Isiala Ngwa South. Despite the matter already being in litigation, Mr. Anughuodo reportedly ignored due legal process and orchestrated the raid, leading to the brothers’ arrest.

By midday, reports confirmed that the Ubani brothers had been whisked away to the State CID headquarters in Umuahia, where police operatives allegedly demanded an outrageous ₦2 million bail fee for their release.

The development has triggered outrage within the community. Local leaders, relatives, and concerned villagers have condemned the brazen act, describing it as an abuse of power and a direct attack on the rule of law. Calls have intensified for the intervention of the Isiala Ngwa South Chairman, Hon. Nnadozie Nwaogwugwu, and other critical stakeholders to secure the immediate release of the brothers and ensure justice is served.

The tense atmosphere in Umuamadi Nkem-Nvosi remains palpable as villagers fear a repeat of such incidents if urgent steps are not taken to restrain the misuse of armed forces in personal disputes.
