Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, has stirred nationwide debate after declaring that he feels “sorry for men with one wife,” arguing that polygamy offers men greater balance, stability, and fulfilment.

The outspoken lawmaker made the remarks on Sunday while featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he was asked to share insights into how he manages his household of four wives, a lifestyle that many men would find nearly impossible to maintain.

When asked the question, the senator paused momentarily before offering a metaphorical response that instantly sparked controversy.

“That is a different topic for discussion on another day. Yes, every man should do that. The example I give is this: just imagine telling you to stand on one foot or leg. You know how difficult it is.

“But to stand on two, three, four is much more balanced. That’s just the example I give. So I feel sorry for those who have one wife because it’s difficult to stand on one leg,” he stated.

When the host reminded him that the Holy Bible does not support polygamy, Nwoko countered by referencing the Old Testament.

“The Old Testament does. I am a man of faith. But that’s not what we are here for,” he replied confidently.

Pressed further on whether he regrets his marital choices, the senator maintained that he has none.

“No, I don’t have any regret. I will do the same thing again. Of course, that’s the way it should be. You should marry who you want to marry,” he said.

Nwoko also addressed swirling allegations of domestic violence reportedly leveled against him by his actress wife, Regina Daniels, dismissing them outright.

“No, come on. You know I am not a violent person. I respect my wives. I love them and my kids,” he stated.

His remarks came just hours after Regina Daniels, his estranged wife and Nollywood star, showcased a newly acquired mansion on her Instagram page amid growing rumors of a marital fallout.

“In my house, I am a Queen! I needed a roof over my head, so I got this for me and my family,” she captioned the photos and videos of her new property, sparking mixed reactions from fans and followers.

The post followed a viral video that surfaced on October 18, in which the visibly emotional actress was seen in tears outside her Abuja residence, alleging abuse and mistreatment.

“In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my own house, I am a Queen. Not again. I can’t stand the violence, it’s too much,” she cried out in the footage.

The couple’s six-year marriage, which once captivated Nigerians with its glamour and the striking age difference between the pair, now appears to be under intense strain. What began as a fairytale romance between the billionaire lawmaker and the popular actress has now spiraled into a public spectacle, drawing widespread reactions across social and traditional media.

As of press time, Senator Nwoko has not issued any further statement beyond his televised remarks, while Regina Daniels remains silent on the ongoing controversy surrounding their marriage.
