Viral Rumour Sparks Panic as Nigerian Preacher, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo Reportedly Goes Missing

A wave of panic and speculation spread across social media platforms after a viral post alleged that Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo, the regional leader of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), had gone missing. The unverified claim, which originated on X (formerly Twitter), triggered widespread concern among Nigerians, many of whom expressed fear and sympathy for the renowned clergyman.

The rumour gained traction after an X user identified as Harry Da Diegot posted a public alert claiming that the preacher was missing. His post read: “Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo is MISSING. Let it be known! Another Christian voice is about to be silenced.”

The alarming post quickly drew attention from social media users, sparking reactions, prayers, and speculation about the alleged disappearance.

However, in a swift reaction, a church member, identified on X as @henry30846834, dismissed the report as false and misleading.

According to Henry, Reverend Dachomo was not missing and had in fact led a church service earlier the same day.

“Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo is sound and healthy. He’s my presiding Pastor. He preached this morning during service,” Henry clarified in his post, bringing relief to many concerned followers.

The clarification came as a major relief to members of the COCIN community and Nigerians at large, who had been unsettled by the initial viral claim.

Henry’s response helped douse the growing tension, reaffirming that the respected preacher was safe, sound, and actively fulfilling his ministerial duties.

Meanwhile, reactions continued to pour in on social media, reflecting both anxiety and hope.

A user identified as Men Called commented: “No man, I fear the worst. Dear Father, if it is your will please send a legion to protect your servant, in Jesus Name Amen.”

Another user, Fully Nigerian, added: “I suggest he is brought out and given a chance to say he is alive as well. Cow is his disappearance turns out negative. This will prove without further investigation that indeed Christians are being persecuted in Nigeria.”
