Wife of the Mayor of Aba North, Mrs. Nina Iheke Marks Birthday With Humanitarian Visit to Aba Custodial Centre, Extends Support to Inmates and Officers
The Wife of the Mayor of Aba North Local Government Area, Mrs. Nina Iheke, marked her birthday in a remarkable humanitarian spirit by paying a felicitation visit to the Aba Custodial Centre in Aba, Abia State.
Rather than limiting the celebration to personal festivities, Mrs. Iheke used the occasion to extend compassion and support to inmates and officers of the custodial centre, reinforcing the importance of remembering people who may be separated from their families and communities.
During the visit, she interacted with inmates of the facility, offering words of encouragement and showing solidarity with them as part of her birthday activities.
She also presented food items and sanitary materials to the inmates, while similar essential items were provided for the officers of the custodial centre. The gesture was aimed at contributing to the welfare and wellbeing of those within the facility.
The birthday outreach brought together a delegation that included the Wife of the Mayor of Obingwa Local Government Area, staff members of Aba North Local Government Area and friends of the celebrant.
The Chief of Staff to the Mayor of Aba North, Hon. Agbai Agbai, was also part of the delegation, alongside an aide to the Mayor, Hon. Benjamin Agwu.
The visit provided an opportunity for the delegation to connect with the custodial community and demonstrate that acts of kindness can extend beyond conventional birthday celebrations.
Mrs. Iheke’s decision to spend part of her special day at the custodial centre highlighted a people-centred approach to celebration, with attention placed on compassion, dignity and support for vulnerable members of society.
The outreach ultimately turned her birthday into an occasion of giving, bringing relief and a sense of inclusion to inmates and officers at the Aba Custodial Centre.
