Europe-Bound Bridegroom Arrested After Excreting 72 Wraps of Cocaine at Enugu Airport
A 25-year-old newlywed businessman, Lovely Chukwulobelu, has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over an alleged attempt to traffic cocaine to Portugal through the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu.
Chukwulobelu was reportedly intercepted during an attempt to board a Europe-bound flight, after NDLEA officials raised concerns over his movements and subjected him to further screening.
According to the agency, the suspect subsequently excreted 72 wraps of cocaine, bringing to light the alleged method through which the illicit substance was being concealed and transported.
The arrest has once again highlighted the efforts of NDLEA operatives to prevent the use of Nigerian airports as transit points for international drug trafficking.
The suspect is expected to face further investigation and prosecution in line with Nigeria’s laws prohibiting the possession and trafficking of controlled substances.
The development also underscores the increasingly stringent screening measures being deployed at international airports to detect and disrupt attempts to smuggle narcotics out of the

country.
