Ghost & Spirit Robbery: Suspect Arrested Less Than 24 Hours After ₦5m Reward Announcement
A major breakthrough has been recorded in the investigation into an armed robbery at Ghost & Spirit Lounge on Ekoro Road, Abule Egba, Lagos, after police reportedly arrested one of the suspects less than 24 hours after the incident went viral.
The development followed the release of CCTV footage capturing the dramatic robbery, which occurred at about 4:00am on Saturday, September 26, 2026, outside the popular lounge.
The footage showed a group of young men relaxing and chatting around parked vehicles when a man dressed in a yellow top was seen moving around the area before approaching one of the men and standing directly in front of him.
Moments later, a Mercedes-Benz pulled up on the opposite side of the road. The driver reportedly stepped out and opened fire in the direction of the group, triggering panic as several people immediately fled the scene.
The man who appeared to have been targeted, however, remained in place as the gunman crossed the road. At that point, another man wearing a white top, who had been among the group, reportedly joined the yellow-shirted man and the shooter.
The three men then ran towards the waiting Mercedes-Benz and escaped from the scene.
The victim was reportedly dispossessed of mobile phones and a Cuban or gold chain, although the exact items and their value have not been officially confirmed.
The CCTV footage also prompted the lounge management to reveal that the incident bore similarities to an earlier armed robbery allegedly carried out at the same location about six months ago.
According to the management, several customers lost cash, mobile phones, gold and other valuables during the previous incident, while one victim was reportedly shot but survived.
Following the latest attack, Ghost & Spirit management announced a ₦5 million reward for credible information capable of leading to the identification and arrest of the perpetrators.
The incident was also reported to the police, with investigations launched to track down those involved.
The reward announcement, coupled with the widespread circulation of the CCTV footage, appears to have accelerated efforts to identify the suspects.
Less than 24 hours after the footage and reward offer gained public attention, Lagos Police reportedly arrested one of the men allegedly linked to the robbery.
The arrest marks a significant development in the investigation, while further efforts are expected to continue towards identifying and apprehending other suspects believed to have participated in the operation.
