Abia Assembly Passes Vote of Confidence on Speaker Emeruwa’s Leadership, Commends Governor Otti for Ongoing Ahuama Abam Ring Road Construction

The Abia State House of Assembly, during its plenary session today, witnessed a remarkable show of unity and appreciation as lawmakers rallied in support of the leadership of the 8th Assembly and the administration of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.

Hon. Kalu Mba Nwoke, representing Ohafia South State Constituency, in his personal explanation, moved a motion for a vote of confidence on the leadership of the 8th Abia State House of Assembly, ably led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ihuoma Emeruwa. He applauded the Speaker and his leadership team for their sterling performance, legislative reforms, and commitment to good governance since the inauguration of the Assembly in 2023.

The motion, which was seconded and supported by other members across party lines, was unanimously adopted, signaling the lawmakers’ satisfaction with the Assembly’s direction, transparency, and dedication to the service of Abians. The resolution was thereafter passed, affirming the House’s confidence in its current leadership.

In a related development, the Majority Leader, Hon. Okoro Uchenna Kalu, in his personal explanation, expressed profound gratitude to Governor Alex Otti for his infrastructural strides, particularly the ongoing construction of the Ahuama Abam Ring Road being executed through the Greater Ohafia Development Authority (GODA).

He noted that the road project, long used as a political campaign promise by previous administrations, has finally received attention under the visionary leadership of Governor Otti.

Hon. Okoro described the development as a “new song of hope” for the people of Ahuama Abam and the entire Ohafia region, emphasizing that the project would significantly improve connectivity, economic activities, and the overall well-being of residents.
