DSS Dismisses 115 Officers Over Corruption and Misconduct, Warns Nigerians Against Fake Personnel

The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the dismissal of 115 officers as part of its ongoing internal reforms aimed at maintaining discipline, professionalism, and integrity within the agency.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the secret police explained that the dismissals were carried out over time to “rid the Service of corruption and misconduct.”

The DSS emphasized that the move aligns with its renewed commitment to enforcing high ethical standards among its personnel and ensuring that public confidence in the Service remains intact.

Beyond the dismissals, the DSS issued a strong caution to the general public against engaging with some of the sacked officers who have continued to parade themselves as serving personnel.

“In addition to earlier disclaimers on the duo of Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, the Service finds it necessary to warn citizens of the fraudulent activities of some of these persons still posing as DSS personnel,” the statement read.

The agency further advised Nigerians to exercise vigilance and avoid any official dealings with the dismissed individuals, stressing that their names and details have been published on the Service’s official website for public awareness.

The DSS reaffirmed its commitment to institutional transparency and accountability, adding that it will not hesitate to discipline any officer found violating its operational ethics or engaging in conduct that tarnishes the image of the Service.
