Abia Government Begins Posting and Reposting of Newly Recruited Teachers Across the State

The Abia State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) has announced the commencement of the posting and reposting exercise for newly recruited teachers across the state, in line with the directive of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, Executive Governor of Abia State.

According to a public announcement issued on October 3, 2025, by the Executive Chairman of ASUBEB, Mrs. Lydia Ezihe Onuoha, the exercise is part of the Governor’s vision to ensure the effective deployment of teachers to schools where their skills and expertise will be best utilized.

ASUBEB stated that the move reflects the Governor’s commitment to strengthening the basic education system in line with the AbiaFirst Education Policy, which prioritizes quality teaching and optimal service delivery in public schools.

“All newly recruited teachers who wish to be reposted are requested to submit their details, including full name, staff ID number, current place of primary assignment (PPA), and preferred place of primary assignment,” the announcement read.

Teachers are to make their submissions through the ASUBEB Contact Centre (07076904864) via SMS or WhatsApp, or visit the Office of the Executive Chairman at the E-Library Complex, Umuahia.

The Board emphasized that the ongoing posting and reposting exercise aims to promote efficiency, fairness, and productivity within the state’s education sector.

ASUBEB reiterated its commitment to ensuring that every teacher is strategically positioned to contribute meaningfully to the realization of Governor Otti’s vision of a robust, quality-driven basic education system in Abia State.
