ASTOPU Aba Zone Celebrates Governor Alex Otti on Birthday, Reaffirms Support for His Administration
The leadership and members of the Abia State Tricycle Operators Union (ASTOPU), Aba Zone, have celebrated the Executive Governor of Abia State, Alex Chioma Otti, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a transformative leader whose administration has restored hope and dignity to the state.
In a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by the Chairman of ASTOPU, Aba Zone, Hon. Victor Azubuike, the union said Governor Otti’s birth represents more than a personal milestone, noting that it symbolizes the emergence of purposeful leadership at a critical time in Abia State’s history.
The union commended the governor’s commitment to transparency, people-centered policies, and infrastructural renewal, particularly highlighting the visible improvements in Aba. According to the tricycle operators, who ply the streets daily, the ongoing transformation across major roads and public spaces has significantly improved their operations and boosted public confidence in governance.
ASTOPU Aba Zone noted that from the early days of the administration, the governor demonstrated sincerity, courage, and a clear vision for development. The group described his leadership style as impactful and inclusive, emphasizing his accessibility and willingness to engage stakeholders across different sectors, including transport unions and small business operators.
The union further revealed that among tricycle operators in Aba, Governor Otti is fondly referred to as “Obi Ụtọ Ndị Keke,” a title which translates to the joy and heartbeat of keke operators. The title, the union said, reflects their appreciation of policies that have created a more enabling environment for transport workers and other small-scale entrepreneurs to thrive.
Marking the governor’s new age as a celebration of life and service, ASTOPU expressed gratitude to God for preserving and strengthening him to lead the state at a pivotal moment. The union offered prayers for continued good health, wisdom, and long life for the governor, expressing optimism that his administration will deliver even greater dividends of democracy to the people of Abia State.
Hon. Victor Azubuike reaffirmed the unwavering support of ASTOPU Aba Zone for Governor Otti’s administration and pledged continued cooperation with the state government in its drive to reposition Abia for sustainable growth and development.
