ASTOPU Chairman, Aba Zone, Hon. Victor Azubuike, Congratulates Abia Transport Commissioner, Dr. Chimezie Ukaegbu, on CIOTA Direct Fellowship Award

The Chairman of Abia State Tricycle Operators Union (ASTOPU), Aba Zone, Hon. Victor Azubuike, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Abia State Honourable Commissioner for Transport, Dr. Chimezie Isaac Ukaegbu, on his conferment with the prestigious Direct Fellowship (FInstTA) of the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIOTA).

Hon. Azubuike described the honour as a well-deserved recognition of Dr. Ukaegbu’s exceptional contributions to public service, innovation, and the transformation of the transport sector in Abia State and Nigeria at large.

“The Direct Fellowship award bestowed on our amiable Commissioner by the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration is not only a personal achievement but also a proud moment for all transport stakeholders in Abia. It validates the vision, dedication, and reformative leadership that Dr. Ukaegbu continues to demonstrate under the people-oriented administration of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR,” Hon. Azubuike stated.

He commended the President/Chairman of Council, Prince (Dr.) Segun Ochuko Obayendo, and the leadership of CIOTA for recognizing the excellence and professional integrity that Dr. Ukaegbu brings to the transport industry.

Hon. Azubuike further noted that the award serves as an inspiration to transport operators across the state, reinforcing the importance of professionalism, discipline, and innovation in the transport sector.

While felicitating with the Commissioner, the ASTOPU Chairman pledged the continued loyalty and cooperation of tricycle operators in Aba towards the Ministry of Transport’s policies aimed at ensuring order, safety, and progress in Abia’s transport ecosystem.

He prayed for God’s wisdom, strength, and greater accomplishments for Dr. Ukaegbu as he continues to distinguish himself as a technocrat and reformer in Abia State’s transport adm inistration.
