Federal Government Launches One-Stop Digital Portal for 96 Public Services
The Federal Government has officially launched the soft phase of the Government Service Portal (GSP), a new digital platform designed to simplify access to public services by providing citizens and businesses with a single online gateway for government transactions.
The portal, unveiled on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, was developed by Galaxy Backbone in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). The initiative is expected to eliminate the fragmentation of government services while improving efficiency, transparency, and ease of access across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
Speaking on behalf of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engineer Nadungu Gagare, the Director of E-Government, Johnson Bareyi, described the platform as a significant milestone in Nigeria’s digital transformation journey. He noted that the portal marks a major step toward building a more accessible, transparent, and citizen-focused digital government.
The Government Service Portal forms part of Nigeria’s e-Government Master Plan 2.0 and is designed to provide users with a secure single sign-on system, enabling them to access multiple government services through one account. The platform also allows authorised government agencies to securely exchange information, reducing duplication and enhancing service delivery.
A review of the portal shows that users can conveniently search for and access a wide range of government services through a single interface. Among the agencies already integrated into the platform are the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), where motorists can access driver’s licence services; the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) for National Identification Number (NIN) services; the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) for international passport applications; and the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), alongside several other government institutions.
As of July 29, 2026, the portal hosts a total of 96 government services, providing Nigerians with a centralised digital platform for accessing essential public services without the need to visit multiple websites or offices.
The launch of the Government Service Portal represents another step in the Federal Government’s drive to deepen digital governance, improve public service delivery, and make government services more efficient, convenient, and accessible to all Nigerians.
