Israel Reportedly Warned U.S of Iranian Threat Against Trump, Triggering Secret Aircraft Switch
Israel reportedly provided intelligence to the United States warning of a potential Iranian threat against President Donald Trump, including the possibility that shoulder-fired missiles could be used to target his presidential aircraft, according to a report cited by The Jerusalem Post.
The reported intelligence prompted an extraordinary covert security operation during Trump’s return journey from Turkey, with US authorities taking extensive measures to conceal the president’s actual movements from journalists and anyone who might attempt to track his aircraft.
According to the report, Trump initially boarded an aircraft that had previously served as Air Force One, with the departure taking place openly in front of members of the media.
However, the apparent departure was reportedly part of a carefully planned deception designed to make it difficult for potential attackers to determine the president’s true location.
Trump was reportedly moved from the terminal area inside an airport catering truck, allowing him to leave the sight of reporters without drawing attention. He was then transported to another part of the airport, where a smaller military aircraft, a C-32A, was reportedly waiting.
The president subsequently departed aboard the C-32A and flew to a US military base in the United Kingdom. The operation was reportedly presented as being connected to troops who wanted an opportunity to take photographs with the Air Force One aircraft.
Trump later continued his journey from the United Kingdom and returned to Washington.
The level of secrecy surrounding the operation was reportedly so high that some members of Trump’s own team were allegedly unaware that he had been transferred to another aircraft. Journalists and several White House officials reportedly boarded the older Air Force One believing that Trump was traveling with them.
Among those reportedly unaware of the aircraft switch was Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who was said to have remained aboard the aircraft while Trump was already traveling separately.
Details of the alleged Iranian threat and the unusual aircraft switch had previously emerged publicly, but the latest report reportedly provided additional insight into how the deception operation was carried out at the airport.
The reported incident comes against the backdrop of heightened tensions between Iran and the United States and continuing concerns over potential attacks targeting senior American officials. The alleged intelligence provided by Israel also highlights the close security and intelligence cooperation between Washington and Jerusalem as both governments monitor Iranian activities and assess potential threats.
The White House has not directly confirmed most of the details contained in the report. White House Communications Director Steven Cheung, however, reportedly emphasized that the new presidential aircraft is equipped with sophisticated security protocols designed to protect the president and his staff.
The reported operation underscores the extraordinary security challenges involved in presidential travel, particularly when intelligence agencies receive information suggesting that an attack could be attempted against the president or his aircraft.
