TRUMP DECLARES IRAN WAR NEARING END WITHIN ‘TWO WEEKS’, PREDICTS GLOBAL OIL PRICE CRASH AS U.S. SIGNALS POSSIBLE WITHDRAWAL
President Donald Trump has declared that the ongoing tensions involving the United States and Iran could come to an end within a matter of weeks, while projecting a dramatic downturn in global oil prices once Washington disengages from the Middle Eastern nation.
Speaking to journalists at the White House, Trump outlined what he described as a straightforward strategy for stabilising the global oil market, linking rising crude prices directly to U.S. involvement in Iran. According to him, a withdrawal would trigger an immediate shift in global supply dynamics.
“All we have to do is to leave Iran and we would be doing that very soon and they will become tumbling down,“ he said.
The president framed his position within the broader context of national security, pointing to Iran’s nuclear ambitions as justification for previous U.S. military actions. He suggested that decisive intervention had already averted a potentially catastrophic outcome.
†Stock prices were up almost a record, I said to the American people it’s time we make a detour because we have a mad man who wants nuclear weapon. If we did not knock him out with a B2-bomber, we would have had a nuclear weapon that would have been used before this, before today,“ he stated.
Trump maintained that his administration’s actions had significantly reduced the threat posed by Iran, insisting that failure to act earlier could have altered the course of global security.
“You would not be standing there asking that question. I would say that within two or three weeks we will leave,“ he said.
The remarks come at a time of heightened geopolitical tension in the Middle East, where concerns over Iran’s nuclear programme and regional influence continue to shape international discourse. Analysts note that any abrupt U.S. withdrawal could have far-reaching implications, not only for security architecture in the region but also for global energy markets already facing volatility.
In a further escalation of rhetoric, Trump also revealed plans that suggest a more aggressive economic posture toward Iran, particularly targeting its oil sector, the backbone of the country’s economy.
During an interview with the Financial Times, the president indicated that seizing Iran’s oil resources remains a key consideration, specifically referencing strategic infrastructure critical to the country’s crude exports. Among these is Kharg Island, a vital hub responsible for over 90 percent of Iran’s oil shipments.
In some of his most direct remarks on the issue, Trump said his “preference would be to take the oil.”
“To be honest with you, my favorite thing is to take the oil in Iran but some stupid people back in the U.S. say: ‘Why are you doing that?’ But they’re stupid people,“ he said.
The latest statements are expected to further intensify global reactions, as policymakers, energy stakeholders, and international observers weigh the potential consequences of such proposals on international law, regional stability, and the already fragile balance of global oil supply.
